In the winter semester 2018/2019, JLU’s Graduate Centres GGL, GGS, and GGK/GCSC, JLU’s Career Centre Plus and Research Campus of Central Hesse invite all early career researchers to three “Brown Bag Sessions” on the topics of “Wissenschaftliche Karriere mit / trotz Kind: Erfahrungsberichte und Diskussion”, "Arbeitsrechtliche Aspekte" and “Starting a Family in Germany”. The first two sessions will be held in German, the third one is directed specifically towards international young researchers. All participants are invited to bring their lunch along. Water and coffee will be offered on site.
Topic: Checklist International: Family Support Structures in Germany
Becoming a parent is quite exciting, but it also poses many questions – especially when you are in a foreign country. In this session, we want to provide you with a checklist containing important things you should take care of around the birth of your child – including information on employment law related aspects, financial support and child care options. Of course, there will also be time to discuss your individual questions and issues. In addition, the session will give you the opportunity to get in contact with other (expectant) parents.
