Enrolment and/or registration at one of the universities

Doctoral procedures at the Doctoral Centre for the Engineering Sciences PZI are under the auspices of one of the RCCH universities. Once you have been admitted to doctoral studies, you can choose to enrol at the university responsible for you:

 

Philipps-Universität Marburg Justus Liebig University Giessen

Enrolment at UMR is possible within the period for registration renewal, i.e. by 15 November for the winter semester and 15 June for the summer semester and up to one year after admission to doctoral studies. For enrolment as a doctoral student, you must submit the following documents to the Registrar’s Office:

  • Completed application (Under “Studiengang” (study programme) fill in “Promotionsstudium” (doctoral studies)
  • Proof of payment of the semester fee
  • Confirmation of acceptance as a doctoral student, signed by the Dean of the respective faculty. Please note that the confirmation must not be older than one year. If you wish to enroll later than a year after being accepted as a doctoral candidate, your supervisor needs to confirm that the project is still ongoing.
  • Originals or certified copies of degree certificates
  • Attestation from the last university of the semesters/terms studied there (including periods of absence as official vacation or sick leave)

Enrolment at JLU is possible at any time, but you must always pay the full semester fee.

For enrolment as a doctoral student, you must submit the following documents to the Registrar’s Office:

  • a completed and signed application for enrolment as a doctoral student.
  • an officially certified copy (if necessary with German translation) of your school-leaving certificate and of your first degree certificate, including a full academic transcript
  • CV
  • the letter of consent from your supervisor (a short letter from your supervisor at JLU Giessen stating that s/he is willing to act as your academic supervisor) or a letter of admission from the respective doctoral study programme/chair of the doctoral committee of the respective faculty.
