Dr Reihaneh Mostolizadeh
Dr Reihaneh Mostolizadeh - Junior Research Group Leader at Justus Liebig University Giessen and the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology
Since June 2024, Dr Reihaneh Mostolizadeh has been leading an FCMH-funded, cross-institutional junior research group at Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) and the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology in Marburg. This group aims to strengthen research cooperation between the two institutions and promote interdisciplinary approaches in microbiology.
Dr Mostolizadeh holds a PhD in mathematics and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the University of Tübingen. Her research focusses on:
- Mathematical modelling of microbial communities
- Bioinformatics
- Nasal microbiomes and their role in infections
- Antimicrobial resistance
Through her work at the interface of mathematics and microbiology, Dr Mostolizadeh contributes to deepening the understanding of microbial ecosystems and developing new approaches for dealing with antimicrobial-resistant pathogens.
