Funding lines
  • Funding of research and development projects:

Personnel and material funds can be applied for for research and development projects at German universities in both basic and applied research. Funding can be provided, for example, for material resources such as travel expenses, participation fees for conferences or printing cost subsidies, as well as support for (partial) doctoral projects and personnel costs in the form of additional researchers, work contracts or auxiliary staff

A total funding amount of 5,000 euros is available per year.

Scholarship funding:

Preference is given to doctoral scholarships within eligible research and development projects. For example, start-up, bridging or completion scholarships are eligible for funding.
Scholarships should only be awarded to scholarship holders who are actually in need of support. The need should be substantiated by a detailed recommendation from suitable persons or institutions.

Application procedure

If you are interested in funding, we ask doctoral candidates at universities in Central Hessen to complete the “Preliminary funding application (Fördervoranfrage, only available in German)” form in advance and submit it to the FCMH Management Office: promotion
The Foundation decides on the amount of the individual grants, which depends on the subject of the funding. Funding may be granted on a pro rata basis if the total volume is exceeded.
Applicants will receive a response regarding the status of their application and whether a detailed funding application still needs to be submitted after a thorough review.

Applications for both funding lines can be submitted at any time.
