Rights and duties of doctoral candidates

As a doctoral candidate, you have the right to receive regular academic advice and support from your supervisor(s). The supervisors have the duty to teach you the methodical skills required and also an ethical approach to scientific research, to your handling of results and to cooperating with other researchers.

 

As a doctoral student, you are required to

  1. keep protocols and complete documentation of your research results and keep them for at least ten years at the university responsible for your dissertation project in accordance with the scientific standards currently valid,
  2. carry out your work with responsibility and in good colleagueship,
  3. submit regular written reports (at least once a year) to your supervisors on the procedure of your research work,
  4. attend internal seminars.
