We are pioneers of cross-university collaboration and develop innovative and future-oriented processes, contents and structures, such as the Graduate Centre for Engineering Sciences. Personal
We ensure the successful continuation of over 20 years of cooperation between the three universities in Central Hessen. Our recipe for success is the individual, personal support of our members and the close and cooperative exchange across universities, which we promote through networking events and joint working groups.
Diverse
The Research Campus of Central Hessen bundles the diverse skills of over 11,000 scientists focused on application-oriented and fundamental research. It enables interdisciplinarity across the entire spectrum of subjects and, with more than 200 specialised research devices and facilities, offers infrastructures and the potential for developing powerful research networks that are otherwise only possible in metropolitan regions, proving that together, we achieve more.
Our mission
We see ourselves as a motor for progress and innovation in the region: The FCMH consists of thousands of researchers who can enhance and exploit the synergy potential of their complementary expertise jointly. Together we have the strength to shape the future, advance cutting-edge research and tackle the big questions of our time – from understanding our brain to developing power sources of the future. Our cooperation in the field of knowledge and technology transfer also strengthens the economic region of Central Hessen and is reflected, for example, in the increased attraction and founding of start-ups. Our union stands for productivity. We implement projects aimed at the joint, efficient use of infrastructure, such as the Research Infrastructure Database Central Hessen (FinD Mi), as well as projects that increase the opportunities each individual university can provide, such as the Graduate Centre for Engineering Sciences. In this way, we offer our members and cooperation partners structural and strategic benefits and strengthen Central Hessen as an internationally renowned region for education and science.

Through successful joint projects in national and international competition under the umbrella of the Research Campus, the three FCMH universities have made Central Hessen a cutting-edge research and innovation region.
