Workshop “Doctorate – yes or no?” (at MARA, Marburg University): The Marburg University Research Academy offers a workshop for those interested in pursuing a doctorate once a year. THM students and graduates can register as external participants. Membership is possible during the doctoral phase in order to take advantage of internal conditions.
As a doctoral candidate at FCMH, you benefit from the qualification and further education opportunities offered by all FCMH universities. You can participate in workshops, courses and networking formats in accordance with the internal conditions of participation, thereby expanding your knowledge, skills and network in a targeted manner. In general, doctoral students may finance their studies either by a work contract at the university or a scholarship, or may support themselves (job outside the university, savings, bank loan, etc.).
Are you passionate about research – but also have family responsibilities? Then you are not alone. At the Research Campus of Central Hessen, we support you in combining your academic career with family commitments.
The Family & Career initiative brings together stakeholders from graduate centres, service facilities and the Research Campus of Central Hessen to address the intersection of science and everyday life. Together, we create spaces for exchange, support and new perspectives.
Each semester, you can look forward to workshops, discussion groups and exchange formats on compatibility, childcare and caregiving.

The three universities of the Research Campus are committed to the rules of good scientific practice. Good scientific practice is not limited to the avoidance of scientific misconduct, the obligation to document research results or the identification of sources, but also strives to ensure that early career researchers obtain adequate support.
All three universities have established a permanent committee to review allegations of scientific misconduct, and provide an ombudsman service at each of the three universities for all researchers who are directly or indirectly affected by scientific misconduct and would like to take action against it. If possible, the ombudsperson will also attempt to mediate if there are prospects that good scientific practice can hereby be restored.

The FCMH office will advise you personally, confidentially and in a solution-oriented manner – from the initial idea to the final phase. Simply send us an email and briefly describe your concern so that we can provide you with the best possible support.
