Workplace Experience

Interdisciplinary research insights for early-career researchers

The Workplace Experience opens new doors for you: as a doctoral candidate or early postdoc, you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in another working group within the FCMH network for a period of one week to two months.

What the Workplace Experience Offers You

  • You discover new research perspectives,
  • explore alternative career paths,
  • take up interdisciplinary ideas,
  • get to know and use other infrastructures and
  • expand your network at FCMH in a targeted manner.

How it works – Your path to the workplace experience

  1. Submit a request: Send us an informal inquiry by email or simply give us a call.
  2. Host search & visit planning: Already have a host in mind? Great! If not, we'll help you find a suitable host group and plan your experience together.
  3. Experience research in a different environment: You will visit your host group for one to eight weeks, be accompanied by a local mentor, and gain valuable interdisciplinary experience.

Your advantage: personal support. The FCMH Office supports you throughout the entire process—from matching to the visit plan all the way through implementation.

Take advantage of this opportunity to broaden your horizons, further develop your research, and establish valuable contacts.
