Barcamps
Thinking, Shaping, Networking
To enable productive exchange on key issues for the science region between university affiliates and regional stakeholders, we rely on an open format: Instead of following a fixed program, participants democratically set the agenda in the "Barcamp," discussing selected topics or issues and collaboratively developing ideas and solutions. The goal of this format is to establish topic-based contacts and to initiate long-term collaborations in and for Central Hessen.

Barcamp Science for Society
Which scientific topics move society? How can research processes and outcomes be presented in a more transparent, understandable, and effective way? And how can science communication become a genuine dialogue? These and other questions were at the heart of the barcamp in Marburg on March 3, 2026.
Barcamp Sustainability
During the event on March 19, 2025, one of the most important questions for our region took center stage: How can a long-term balance between ecological, social, and economic interests be secured in Central Hessen?
